You'll savor the timeless style of this charming bungalow with attic. This stylized
interpretation of the 19th century Queen Anne architecture, later referred to as Victorian
style, is the first of our "Aspen Series". A steep, shingled, double-gable roof caps this
gracious "siding-and-brick" home. The bright colored sidings are also reminiscent of the
gingerbread houses in Aspen, Colorado--hence the name.
The window shutters, carved scrolls, wooden spandrels and porch balusters give a definite
quaint flavor to the exterior. Inside though, there is every modern convenience.
The large 'combined living and dining room' and "open" kitchen with skylight and glass
blocks, form the heart of this plan. A covered lanai topped by a sundeck and accessed
from the family room makes a wonderful spot for relaxing or enjoying the view of the
swimming pool. The master bedroom leads to a corner gazebo, which also has a view of
the pool. Three other bedrooms and two bathrooms accommodate family or friends comfortably.
The huge multi-purpose attic, which is the favorite room in this house, can be accessed
from the garage or from the interior hall via a spiral staircase. This attic also leads
to a balcony overlooking the swimming pool below.
